چکیده

An ad-hoc network is a spontaneous network that emerges when two or more wireless nodes pledge to help each other. As the wireless range of these nodes is usually limited so each node commits to forward the packets on behalf of its neighbours in accordance with a predefined routing protocol. Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) is one of the widely used routing protocols that is currently undergoing extensive research and development. DSR is based on source routing, but the routes are discovered not on a periodic basis but on an as per requirement basis. The control and data packets traverse the network in accordance with the list of IP addresses held by each packet. As this list is mutable, it creates a potential vulnerability that is frequently exploited by malicious nodes. By adding, deleting or modifying IP addresses in the list, malicious nodes can control and monitor the flow of network traffic. Similarly, transmission of routing packets in clear text, also discloses vital information about the network topology, which is again a potential security hazard. This necessitates that the routing and data packets must be obscured and authenticated prior to usage. In this paper we present a novel and pragmatic scheme for securing the Dynamic Source Routing protocol that protects against a number of attacks carried out against mobile ad-hoc wireless networks.

A Secure DSR Routing Protocol for MANET

We present the design and performance evaluation of a new secure DSR routing protocol for wireless mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) called Security Aware Dynamic Source Routing (SADSR) that incorporates security attributes as parameters into a route discovery. The proposed protocol can be implemented based on the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol with suitable modification. SADSR enables the ...

Secure Routing Protocol: Affection on MANETs Performance

In mobile ad hoc networks, the absence ofinfrastructure and the consequent absence of authorizationfacilities impede the usual practice of establishing a practicalcriterion to distinguishing nodes as trusted and distrusted.Since all nodes in the MANETs would be used as router inmulti-hop applications, secure routing protocols have vital rulein the security of the network. So evaluating the perf...

Energy Based Trustedsource Routing Protocol for Mobile Adhoc Networks

Secure transmission in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks has proven to still be a challenging task due to the openness in network topology and absence of a centralized administration. In order to enhance the security of network and protect the nodes from vulnerabilities, this paper proposes a novel energy based trusted routing scheme to select the most trustable path based on the route trust and also the ...

Trusty DSR Protocol for MANET To Mitigate BLACKHOLE Attacks

Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are autonomous mobile node systems connected by wireless links. A node operates as an end system and as a router, to forward packets. MANET routing is challenging and has received tremendous attention from researchers. Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol was accepted as a dominant routing protocol for MANETs. Performance analysis and results show that DSR as an...

Comparative Performance Analysis of AODV,DSR, TORA and OLSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using OPNET

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....
